Ingredients

Titanium dioxide is a strong photocatalyst that uses UV energy to power the oxidation reactions that kill odors for up to 12 months. This is the catalyst included in our ZefirFresh™ spray.

A recent enhancement in titanium dioxide technology permits the oxidation reaction to be triggered by any form of visible light and not to rely upon the presence of UV radiation. This is the form we use in our ZefirPro™ and ZefirFab™ products. The visible-light activated titanium dioxide makes these products effective in eliminating tobacco odor from a typical smoking room in a hotel in 4-6 hours.

Titanium dioxide only works in the presence of adequate light. Titanium phosphate also works steadily throughout the night or in darkened areas of the home. Both catalysts attack all organic sources of odor.

Silver ions have a demonstrated anti-bacterial function that contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Zefir™ products.

We have rounded out our Zefir™ deodorizers with an immediately effective combination of plant extracts known as phytoncides.

Our fabric treatment, ZefirFab™, also includes zinc oxide to block UV radiation and a color stabilizer. The following table summarizes the ingredients in each of the Zefir™ sprays. Further details are available in the product summaries for each product.

Safety

Each product in the Zefir™ series is safe to use in the home and around pets. Care should be taken during application not to inhale or ingest it, but once it has been applied, treated surfaces, such as furniture, curtains and walls, do not require any special treatment. A toxicologist from a leading environmental consulting firm has evaluated our Zefir™ products and concluded that the there was minimal potential for environmental impact.
