The Ultimate Enhancer of Interior Air Quality
Long-Lasting – Safe Natural Process
Double Strength Catalyst Combines (1) Visible-Light Activated Photocatalyst and (2) Moisture/Oxygen Activated Catalyst
Why ZefirPro™?
ZefirPro™ employs the latest advances in nanotech photocatalysts to convert your walls and curtains into an advanced air freshening system.
One safe, simple application will deodorize your home for 12 months or more. No harsh or dangerous chemicals. The catalysts of ZefirPro™ simply speed up the natural processes of oxidation and break down organic sources of odor into carbon dioxide and water.
Because ZefirPro™ employs catalysts, those catalysts are not used up in the deodorizing process and will continue to deodorize for as long as they remain on the curtain or wall to which they have been applied. Delphi Labs recommends reapplication every 12 months.
The Ingredients of ZefirPro™
Advanced Formulation of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) – the Photocatalyst
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a potent photocatalyst that can break down almost any organic, but it typically requires exposure to adequate amounts of UV radiation. The special formulation in ZefirPro™ is not limited to UV radiation, but is able to make use of any visible light energy to power the oxidation reactions. When exposed to visible light, this form of titanium dioxide will turn a portion of available water vapor into two highly reactive, strong oxidizers: hydroxyl radicals [OH] and a superoxide ion [O2-1]. In the presence of water vapor and sunlight, titanium dioxide can break down organic matter into carbon dioxide (CO2) and water.
Titanium Phosphate – the Air and Moisture Catalyst
Titanium phosphate is a steady catalyst that uses water and oxygen to break down organic matter. Because it does not need light, ZefirPro™ is effective even at night or in darkened areas of the house such as in basements and closets or under sinks.
Once the titanium phosphate compound is sprayed onto a surface and allowed to dry completely (48 hours), the surface will react with oxygen and water in the atmosphere to produce trivalent ozone and bivalent oxygen. This oxygen unstable and so iteratively undergoes oxidation/reduction reactions between a trivalent and a bivalent state, where the O2 that is produced through the reduction of the oxygen forms peroxides, and, these peroxides are subsequently converted into hydroxide radicals (- OH), which have stronger oxidizing power. As a result, organic materials such as grease, bacteria, and other compounds that adhere to and soil the surface of the coated material are broken down by these strong forces.
Silver Ions
The antibacterial properties of silver ions (Ag+) are well established. As is the safety of silver in household usage.
Phytoncides – Immediate Acting Plant Extracts
Phytoncides comprise the natural disease fighting agents of plants. We include a mixture of dozens of these plant extracts to kill a wide range of bacteria.
Safety
ZefirPro™ is safe to use in the home and around pets. Many of the ingredients are common in cosmetics and toothpaste. Nonetheless, care should be taken during application not to inhale or ingest ZefirPro™, but once treated surfaces have dried, they do not require any special treatment.
A toxicologist from a leading environmental consulting firm has evaluated the Zefir™ products and concluded that the there was minimal potential for environmental impact.
Ease of Application
ZefirPro™ is easy to apply and may be safely sprayed on nearly any substrate. Because ZefirPro™ is water-based, ZefirPro™ should only be applied to surfaces that would not be damaged by similar amounts of water. After application, the water will evaporate leaving behind the active ingredients in the small cracks and crevices of your walls, curtains and furniture. The remaining coating is transparent because the particles are so small.
If you are in doubt about whether ZefirPro™ is appropriate for a particular substrate, spray a small amount of either ZefirPro™ on the substrate in a non-obtrusive location and observe the result. Avoid amounts that lead to beading up of ZefirPro™ on the surface. Instead, spray on small amounts with a fine mist and allow to dry between applications.
The History of ZefirPro™
ZefirFresh™ was originally developed to combat sick building syndrome overseas. Compliance with stiffer construction regulations, especially limiting volatile organic compounds (VOCs), schools and builders turned to Delphi Lab’s manufacturer for an effective treatment to reduce VOCs for an extended period of time.
ZefirPro™ was developed to respond to more obnoxious concentrations of odors such as in smoking rooms in hotels where UV radiation might not be adequate to power the standard titanium dioxide reaction.
Applications
A few target applications are listed below.
Hotels
ZefirPro™ will change the way hotels deal with smoking rooms. A single application will substantially decrease the time necessary to convert a smoking room to a non-smoking room. Dealing with guests who choose to smoke in non-smoking rooms will become less of an inconvenience.
Taxi and Limousine Services
Although ZefirFresh™ is effective for both taxis and limousines because of the amount of time vehicles are exposed to sunlight (including UV radiation), ZefirPro™ will give limousine services that extra measure of comfort that their customers will not be put off by the smoke or odors of yesterday’s passengers.
Realtors
Realtors or homeowners who are readying a house for sale often need to eliminate year’s of tobacco smell or pet odors. Particularly difficult odors might take a few more days or weeks to be eliminated with standard amounts or the thickness of the application could be increased. Used car dealers encounter similar issues in turning a car around for resale.
Tested Effectiveness
Lab tests of ZefirPro™ demonstrate its effectiveness against a variety of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), including formaldehyde, toluene and xylene. These tests have also shown that ZefirPro™ does not easily wash out of a fabric, but continues to be effective for up to 10 washings.
The results of a recent test by an independent lab are summarized below.
